
It was proposed that ARF should be represented on the BBSRC AgriFood Committee by Dr Pinder Gill of MLC. This was agreed and the proposal will go to BBSRC for approval.
It was agreed that ARF will not consider nutrition as a primary goal as this is being covered by the Nutrition Group established by the Levy Body Chairmen.
The Chairman was most encouraged by the results from the ARF so far; we are on target against our objectives. He proposed the establishment of a Risk Crisis Response Group.
These have been very successful and have exceeded expectations in the way people are working together both informally and formally.

The workshop of the sustainable use of organic residues on agricultural land will be held on 8-9 September at Harper Adams College, and will include farm visits.
The workshop on the implications of the Water Framework Directive is being organised by Mr Rob Claydon of the BPC.
It was agreed that stakeholder engagement in the DEFRA Environmental Burdens project was important, a meeting would be arranged with Velcourt and scientists from Silsoe Research Institute.
A proposal had been circulated to ARF members and also Defra. Mr Attenborough agreed to discuss this matter further with Defra.
It was agreed that ARF should go ahead with the proposal developed by DBT, the company which had developed websites for BPC, HGCA and the Red Meat Industry Forum.
It was agreed that a formal annual report would be produced in the autumn, at the end of the first full year of the ARF. Hard copies would be produced for distribution to government departments etc., and it would also be published on the new website.
A series of stakeholder meetings was about to commence. ARF members were encouraged to attend.
