The 'Long-term Arrangements for Extension of Use', a system that has enabled the PSD to approve the use of a pesticide on minor crops without the expense of full registration, is to end by the end of 2005. It will be replaced by Specific Off-Label Approvals (SOLAs).
The Pesticides Safety Directorate (PSD) are now converting all pesticides currently covered under LTAEUs and will be issuing up to 3,000 new SOLAs byt he end of March 2006. The changes will have most impact on the horticultural sector, but will also apply to crops such as linseed, rye and triticale.
The PSD will be issuing four CDs containing the new information and we will provide details on how to access these once the information is available.
